More information will follow as soon as we receive official confirmation from the Amsterdam Lowlanders (hosting team). Dates for the event will be 2nd-5th June 2011.
This year culminates in the most fantastic of the gay rugby tournaments (well, besides our Clinic anyway) the Union Cup. Hosted by Amsterdam's gay-friendly rugby club the Amsterdam Lowlanders, this biennial tournament is going to be fantastic with teams from all over Europe taking part in Holland’s capital city. This includes Scotland’s national gay rugby club, the Caledonian Thebans.
There are many things to do to get us there; growing the playing squad and their experience is one of them. We will be looking to grow our numbers, boost our fitness and develop a greater knowledge of rugby and tactics. This is a fantastic season to join the team and a cracking tournament to end your first season as a Theban. If you are interested in training with us (prior rugby experience and a preset level of fitness are not required) then check out the information on our main rugby pages. Alternatively, complete our contact us form and our Membership Secretary will email/call you to answer any questions you might have.
If playing isn't your thing don't worry, supporting members are not only welcome but encouraged to get more involved and come and support us on tours. The supporters who came to Paris at the end of the 2009-2010 season am sure will tell you of the amazing time they had. Visit our supporters page for more information or complete our contact us form and our Supporters Secretary will email/call you to answer any questions you might have.
Finally, there will be many training, fundraising and social events throughout 2010 and 2011 to help get the club and team to Amsterdam in peak fitness and winning form. Keep an eye on this page, our Facebook group or become a member and get the latest information emailed to you, making sure you don't miss a moment of this fantastic season and tournament.
